New Project!!! Perfect!

Dear Friends,

Lucky me!  I have an assignment this summer to do something wonderful!  It's going to take a long time--most of the summer, I'm sure!  Here's a clue:

Yes, it's hardanger!

I haven't done it in a while, not because I didn't have an interest.  Because there are so many fun things to do, I have a hard time settling on one thing.

Anyway, I have a special project to make a very large piece that I can hardly wait to get started!

I get to design the project with a few guidelines, and recently found a wonderful little program to download.  This is the only project I've used it for, but here's where you can get it, too:  KG-Chart LE It seems to do some pretty basic stitches for hardanger.  And I was excited to use it! (It's mostly used for counted cross stitch)

Here's hoping for the thread to come in soon to the little needlework shop we have here in Evanston!  I'm all ready to go!

Wish me luck!

Yours truly, Sue

Schools Out!!!

Yes!!!  And am I ever ready for a little extra time!!!  First, to get some more things on my Etsy Shop, and Second, to get caught up from all the extra work going on!  Who knows, maybe I'll even have some time to finish some of those UFO's (unfinished objects!) that have been trailing around here--IN EVERY ROOM OF THE HOUSE!

Office

Guest bedroom

Even MY bedroom!

Family room

Sunroom

The worst of all is my sewing room.  I suppose that one is very logical!

And then I got really nervous because this isn't even a close start!  Anybody want to help me with my UFO's.

My goal this summer is to finish one a week!

There!  It's out there!  Please wish me luck!

Yours truly,  Sue

Quilting!

Though I've recently been excited about jewelry, I think my true favorite is probably quilting!  I keep coming back to it the very most.  I've loved it since I was 7 years old.  I have a wonderful story to tell about my first quilting experience, but will put that off for now.

Today I want to share this site where I have started uploading all my quilts, etc!  I hope you will enjoy them!  I don't know my favorite yet, but the following are close!

From a kit and from a pattern--I love Christmas!

Thanks to my friend Marsha!!!  This was a challenge she picked the fabric for.
A wedding quilt for my daughter, Brooke!
A seat cover for my sewing chair from my daughter, Natalie.
(Which I haven't been able to bring myself to sit upon!)
From my sister Connie-in our grandmother's style, and my sister Brenda!  Both are recycled. (wool-crocheted block sewn together; and pieced denim)  Both loved!

So there you go!!!  I'll add some more later!  Like I said, I've been involved quilting since I was 7 years old! And you can tell from the pictures I've been passed that for quite some time now!

Stacking Bracelets and Wrapped Bracelets!

Can I just say that I love them!

Finding them a few weeks ago is what inspired me to get my etsy shop going as well as blogging and social media.  I'm not sure what else is in store, but here is a link to the tutorial I saw on the wrapped bracelets!  I figured there were enough tutorials out there that you might as well find this one from my blog!  Or you can just go to buy some from my shop.

Now go have some fun for yourselves!

Here we go again!  I've been working on my Etsy shop a lot more the last week or two.  I hope you get a chance to look at it and give me some advice!

More to come!

Dear Friends,

Tada!!  My first post ever on my first blog ever!!!  It might be that we're a little plain at the beginning, but just you wait!

A little introduction might be in order.  Treasures Untold has been a small cottage industry of mine for over 20 years now.  I've dabbled in lots of things and will continue to do so.  Mostly I LOVE the needle arts!  There are some I haven't tried yet, but for the most part, I LOVE THEM ALL!  I'm fascinated with textures as well, and would love to visit the world and discover their unique sewing traditions.

I chose the name Treasures Untold because as a teen, I worked for Aunt Bertha - her shop in Idaho was called Treasure Chest!  It was a craft store with the basement dedicated to ceramics, and the main floor with crafts of all kinds.  Talk about my kind of work!  I was in heaven to work there wishing all along it also included needlework.  So Treasures Untold can include all the amazing things I love!

It's spring break here in Wyoming, and so I have a little more time to focus and update my business endeavors.  Hopefully,  I'll figure out a little more this week before I go back to teaching piano next week!

Thanks for stopping by!

Love, Sue
